• Hampson ID: RL_9551
  • Form: Bottle

This vessel is rather unusual in that it is a compound bowl/bottle. The juncture of the two vessel forms is marked by an appliqu band of rope relief. A similar vessel, though lacking the Rhodes Incised spirals on the upper body and the 'rope' motif, from Pecan Point is illustrated by Phillips et al. (1951:Figure 104q). The height is 6 1/2 inches, and the provenience is 'Harris site at Richardson's Landing,' which may refer to the site now known as Richardson's Landing (40TP13) in Tipton County, Tennessee, just across the Mississippi River from the Nodena Plantation.
